Guidelines | Trousdale Banner Schedule
All university signage both interior and exterior and permanent and temporary (i.e.), banners, are governed by university policy and are subject to review and approval by committee members representing the Office of the Provost, University Communications, and Capital Construction Development. Committee members review all proposals and collaborate with those requesting signage to ensure conformity with campus signage standards and criteria.
To request signage, a proposal is required and must address the following: purpose, duration, size, material, design/artwork, content/text, location and include the name of the professional consultant/contractor or company producing the sign.

Guidelines for Public Plaza Banners
Light pole banners occupying Trousdale Parkway are subject to approval by USC University Communications. Proposals for banners in these spaces must meet the following criteria:
Thematic Criteria
Banners should contain two or more of the following:
- Promote an all-university initiative
- Celebrate USC Trojan culture
- Celebrate USC milestones (Welcome Week, Orientation, Commencement, Festival of Books)
- Promote awareness of essential care and safety services
Audience Criteria
Banner themes should be appropriate for one of the following:
- USC students as a main population; i.e. promoting campus resources for students; — or —
- The general public; i.e., promoting a free public activity or celebration.
Schedules for central plaza banners follow the academic year calendar (August-May) and are determined in May for the following academic year.
